“We were looking at revamping our existing dealership facility when this much more modern facility became available, which we then revamped in accordance with the latest Kia CI, colours, furniture and finishings,” says Dealer Principal Mike Salt
“This new facility has plenty of space with a massive new car floor, room for 90 used cars, while we still have a storage yard that can hold in excess of 150 cars. This ensures that we always hold excellent levels of stock, which is key to best servicing our customer base. Our workshop now has the capacity to service 50 cars per day, which is one of the biggest in the group,” says Salt.
Kia East Rand sells the largest number of Kia vehicles in the country across new and used stock and they believe that this new facility is going to enable them to go from strength to strength. “We have remained successful in the tough times thanks to the tenacity of our management team as well as our sales team’s hunger to do business. It hasn't been easy but being the top selling Kia dealership in the country can be attributed to our staff, including the sales executives and technicians, who have adopted a mentality of being number one and staying number one,” explains Salt. “In addition, this new facility has given our staff a new zest, a new motivation and awakened that drive to succeed and continue to sell the most Kia vehicles in SA,” adds Salt.
“Kia remains an excellent brand for South African motorists and is a great brand to work for thanks to the inherent Kia brand values and the way that staff and customers are treated. As a staff member you are treated with respect and you are not just a number, which in itself is motivating,” explains Salt.
“Being part of a big group like Motus and Kia comes with massive benefits, there is really no limit to the stock we can hold, which naturally makes it easier to sell cars. Kia as a brand is now also well established in South Africa with more than 20 years of continuous representation and an inherent focus on quality, something which is continually awarded by the likes of the JD Power survey. As an established brand we offer quality, backup service and parts holding which means a lot to discerning customers,” adds Salt.
“In 2024 we are looking forward to shooting the lights out and maintaining the title of top selling Kia dealer in SA. We are also looking forward to the new Picanto and the Seltos facelift which should arrive on our showroom during the course of 2024,” concludes Salt.
